Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Digital Empower uses cookies and similar technologies on the Pitch platform. You can manage your preferences at any time using the cookie preference centre (link in the footer on every page).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow websites to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with the site. We also use similar technologies such as local storage to record your consent choices.
2. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Functional (essential) | Authentication, session management, security tokens, and core app functionality. These cannot be disabled — the platform will not work without them. | __clerk_db_jwt, __session (Clerk auth) | Strictly necessary — no consent required (Art. 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet) | Session / up to 1 year |
| Analytics | Help us understand how Pitch is used — pages visited, features clicked, session length. Used to improve the product. No personal data is sold or shared for advertising. | _ga, _gid (Google Analytics) | Explicit consent required | Up to 2 years |
| Marketing | Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and support retargeting. Only fires with your explicit consent. | _fbp, _fbc (Meta Pixel) | Explicit consent required | Up to 90 days |
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services embedded in Pitch. We have no direct control over these cookies. Please refer to the relevant privacy policies:
- Clerk — Authentication. clerk.com/legal/privacy
- Google Analytics — Usage analytics (consent-gated). policies.google.com/privacy
- Mux — Video hosting. mux.com/privacy
4. Your consent
When you first visit Pitch we display a cookie banner. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage each category individually. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key pitch_cookie_consent for 12 months, after which we will ask again. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Manage preferences" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent for analytics or marketing cookies will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before withdrawal.
5. How to block cookies via your browser
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking functional cookies will prevent you from signing in to Pitch. Instructions are available in your browser's help documentation.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, reset the consent banner so you can make a fresh choice.
